Nathalie, a Sociology and Legal Studies major, chose to attend Scripps because it blends the small, women's college experience with the diversity and resources of the 5C schools. And, of course, our Southern California location doesn't hurt, either. See what a typical weekend at Scripps looks like for her (and keep some ideas in your back pocket for yourself).
Her favorite thing about Scripps is the location and the faculty support she has. "My professors have all been incredibly helpful and kind, and they really do care about their students. I feel like I have learned so much!"
Friday
LET'S GO OUT
"I am lucky that I don't have classes on Fridays, so it's a pretty free day for me. Friday evening, I usually hang out with friends at one of their apartments or go out. We usually go to the Village, or places like Citrus Grove or the Whisper House."
Most 5C students hang out in the Claremont Village. Only a 15-minute walk from campus, it has cool secondhand stores, delicious eateries, and a Sunday farmer’s market.
The Village is such a fun place to be.

Saturday
GET CULTURED
"On Saturday I get brunch at Malott dining hall, and then usually go into LA to see friends or go to the Getty Museum. When the weather is good, I love trekking to Laguna Beach (A Thousand Steps beach there is my favorite SoCal beach)."
Dining hall food often gets a bad rap, but at Scripps, that’s not the case. Most Scripps students eat at the Malott dining hall and love all the fresh options.
How’s the food? I would say, fantastic! I love our food.

Malott Commons
You can grab your homework or a book and hang out at the Getty Museum and its beautiful grounds for the day (after viewing the art, of course).
The Getty Museum is free!

Getty Museum
Laguna Beach’s gorgeous coast, fun shops, and cool art galleries definitely requires a day trip with friends during your time at Scripps.
I love going to A Thousand Steps beach in Laguna.

Sunday
HOMEWORK DAY
"On Sundays I usually go to the Claremont Farmer's Market in the Village then do homework at Norema Cafe (also in the Village) until dinner. Sundays are usually reserved for working, whereas Saturday I tend to take the day off. If I have a friend visiting from out-of-town, I'll take them to Santa Monica or hang out in Seal Court."
Stroll the Venice Beach boardwalk, ride your bike, or read a good book in an empty lifeguard tower (but don’t say we told you that).
Venice Beach
Seal Court is a Scripps lifestyle kind of thing—it’s the perfect spot to grab a seat and study, eat, or hang with friends in the sunshine.
