A History major, Spanish minor, and 5C volleyball co-captain, Siena knew Scripps was the college for her when she discovered that our rigorous academics are rivaled only by our passionate, tight-knit community. See what a typical weekend at Scripps looks like for her (and keep some ideas in your back pocket for yourself).
Her biggest academic accomplishment was attending the Southern California Conference for Undergraduate Research, where she, "got to share my own work and hear about what so many other undergrad students were completing."
Friday
LET'S HANG OUT
"Friday is a pretty free day for me! I like to get dinner with friends, sometimes at one of the campus dining halls, sometimes in the Claremont Village, and then we all hang out. Depending on the time of the semester, we'll go watch volleyball games, catch a student theatre performance, or go to a party."
Most 5C students hang out in the Claremont Village. Only a 15-minute walk from campus, it has cool secondhand stores, delicious eateries, and a Sunday farmer’s market.
The Village is such a fun place to be.

Saturday
SWEET SPOTS
"I like to sleep in on Saturdays, get brunch at the Malott dining hall (we have really good food at Scripps), and, if it's nice out, go to the pool for a bit. If I have friends visiting, I'll show them spots on campus, like the Graffiti Wall, and take them to the Village to get cookies from Some Crust Bakery."
When you graduate, you’ll join all the Scripps students who came before you by signing your name to the Graffiti Wall. It’s a great way to leave your mark.
This is my personal favorite tradition.

Graffiti Wall
Get your sweet tooth fix with the baked goods from Some Crust Bakery in the Claremont Village (it’s a student favorite). Bonus: they offer student discounts.
I love the iced sugar cookies.

Sunday
KEEP IT LOW KEY
"On Sundays I like to sleep in (it is the weekend) and finish whatever homework I have. I also have my club volleyball practice, which is really fun, and sometimes it's nice to hang out in Seal Court or on the lawn."
Seal Court is a Scripps lifestyle kind of thing—it’s the perfect spot to grab a seat and study, eat, or hang with friends in the sunshine.
